Buhay Punlaan is a nursery of native trees at the Caliraya-Lumot Watershed in Lumban, Laguna. It covers a two hectare area & serves as a learning laboratory and direct response to the shortage of native tree species in the country today.

Throughout 2014 & 2015 over 60,000 seedlings were cultivated for planting, consisting of at least 50 native tree species like Apitong, White lauan, and Hagakhak which are at extremely high risk of becoming extinct in the wild. Below is a complete list of native tree species propagated at the nursery.
In 2015, the Macquarie Group Foundation provided funds amounting to Php 1.2 million to develop Buhay Punlaan as a living laboratory, learning center, showcasing biodiversity conservation and watersheds, and a venue for volunteerism. Continued support for the buhay punlaan will help reach the the goal of bringing back Philippine rainforests.
In the same year actor Enzo Pineda brought fans to the nursery and planted trees there together, sharing photos and lessons from the event with his more than 600,000 fans on Twitter. “The experience was fun, something different, [and] we [got] to do something that is more meaningful with this kind of activity and celebration,” shared Enzo.
