Fraser’s Hill International Bird Race 2019

Join the 32nd Fraser’s Hill International Bird Race on June 22-23 in Raub District, Pahang, Malaysia. Meet nature-lovers and scientists from around the world, and learn about some of Malaysia’s most beautiful birds.

The event is open to all. Free meals and accommodation is only available for Haribon members, thanks to Tourism Pahang and Haribon BirdLife partner Malaysian Nature Society or MNS.

Perks for Haribon members:

  • Free meals and accommodation.
  • Car service from airport to accommodation.

Haribon members will only shoulder the team registration fee of RM60 (Php750-800), roundtrip airfare, and extension of stay if desired. 

Haribon staff will also assist members with a 15-minute Powerpoint presentation on avi-tourism and ecotourism in the Philippines, which will be presented to bird race participants.

How to sign up:

Haribon members can merely submit the following information to Queenie at

  • Full name
  • Citizenship and passport number
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Indicate if you will only be joining the bird race, and/or the photography contest.

In addition to a bird race, there will be a Bird Photography Contest, conservation talk, nature walks, and 40 booths showcasing nature related activities and products from NGOs, government agencies, suppliers of optics and camera equipment, handicrafts and more.

What is a bird race?

A bird race is when people gather to count as many bird species as they can. Those with the most species counts win!
