Learn how to dive with Haribon members in our next PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Open Water Course, conducted by veteran diver and Haribon member Erick Villacorte. This is not only an opportunity to appreciate and learn more about our seas, but also a fundraising activity for Haribon membership.

The PADI Open Water Course is made up of three parts:

  1. Knowledge Development: Participants learn the important things relevant to diving safety and enjoyment through five chapters of study with quizzes and a final exam. Learning is either through instructor meet-ups in a classroom setting or PADI’s online eLearning modules.
  2. Confined Water Training: Participants acquire the basic skills in diving through five in-water training sessions in a swimming pool or calm body of water. These “pool sessions” typically total about 7 to 10 hours, and will be conducted at DiveNet, a dive facility located in Project 4, QC.
  3. Open Water Dives: Participants get to practice what they’ve learned in Knowledge Development and Confined Water Training by doing at least four ocean dives to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). These dives are usually done over a weekend stay in a diving resort in Anilao, Batangas.

Upon completion of this course, participants earn their PADI Open Water Diver Certification that will allow them to dive practically any place where diving facilities are available provided the diving conditions are within the limits of their training and/or experience.

Course Fees and details

  • P15,000 (Haribon Members)
  • P17,000 (non-members)
  • Includes: Instructor’s fee, materials, equipment rental, pool fees, and certification card.
  • Does not include: Transportation, overnight resort accommodation, and boat rentals.

Initial orientation

  • Saturday, June 22, 2019
  • 4pm, at Haribon Foundation main office.
