Incenter Solutions joins Haribon Buhay Punlaan tree nursery

About 50 volunteers, composed of members of the ICS’ Leadership Team and the Administrative and Operations Departments, participated in a hands-on preparation of native tree seedlings – from the mother tree to planting-ready saplings.

As part of its contribution to restore Philippine forests, Incenter Solutions LLC Philippine Branch Office (ICS) partnered with Haribon Foundation, through its Forests for Life Movement, in a tree seedling preparation activity entitled “Nurture a Seed Today for a Greener Tomorrow” last September 8, 2019 in the Buhay Punlaan Native Tree Nursery at the Caliraya-Lumot Watershed in Lumban, Laguna.   

About 50 volunteers, composed of members of the ICS’ Leadership Team and the Administrative and Operations Departments, participated in a hands-on preparation of native tree seedlings – from the mother tree to planting-ready saplings. 

The volunteers were divided into three groups and assigned to three workstations: (1) trimming of leaves and roots; (2) soil sifting and bagging; and (3) seedling potting. The groups were then rotated so all participants get to experience all the stages of seedling preparation.

Jaridom Jison, ICS’ Senior Vice President and Philippines Country Manager, highlighted in his opening remarks the importance of seedling preparation in the nationwide rainforest restoration efforts. 

“When these seedlings become trees, then our contribution will have lasted for future generations,” said Jison.   

ICS’ participation in the Buhay Punlaan activity is one of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects this year that aim to engage the employees in relevant social, economic and environmental activities outside the workplace.
